Title of Work: Daqing 2019
Statement:
The elements of‘industrialization’‘Socialism’‘Utopia’seem to be subtly expressed in the city Daqing. The 5.2 billion tonnes of oil reserves, which is contained in the unique geological structure of Songliao Basin, give Daqing an important place in the history of new China.
Extraction equipments and transport pipelines are crossing wherever they might appear in this city, showing the gradually-formed reconstruction of the original extremely harsh natural environment and human living space by means of the electricity-driven mechanical jungle, as uncanny as being in the Arctic Circle and space cities depicted in Soviet futurism science fictions.

“工业化”“社会主义”“乌托邦”等元素似乎在大庆市得到一种巧妙的展现。松辽盆地的特殊地质构造所蕴藏的五十二亿吨石油储备造就了大庆市在新中国历史上的重要地位。
采掘设备与运输管线交错在城市中任何可能出现的地方，展示出以电力驱动的机械丛林为工具而逐渐形成对原先极度恶劣的自然环境与人类生存空间的重构，仿佛令人置身于前苏联未来主义题材科幻作品中所描绘的北极圈与太空城市那样令人不可思议。
Biography:
Gao Shiming studied in Photography Department of Communication University of China. He has been engaged in the creation of photographic works based on aircraft, ships, railways and industrial facilities for a long time and has analyzed and described the artistic and philosophical phenomena behind them.
高世明，就读于中国传媒大学摄影系。长期进行基于航空器、船舶、铁路、工业设施的摄影作品创作活动并对其背后的艺术和哲学现象进行一定的分析和描述。
